India skipper Shubman Gill etched his name in the record books on Wednesday by striking his second men's One-Day International double hundred during a run chase against the West Indies. Reaching the milestone from just 117 deliveries in the 39th over, Gill became only the second batter in history to register multiple double centuries in the format, standing alongside Rohit Sharma.
During the same fixture, Rohit also achieved a major career landmark by crossing the 12,000-run threshold in ODI cricket in his 282nd innings, making him the third Indian to do so following Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. The pair previously combined for a massive 255-run opening partnership, which featured Rohit contributing 101 runs from 75 balls before Gill powered past his historic individual total.
