The Los Angeles Dodgers offense struggled significantly in their 7-4 Game 2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, managing only three hits throughout the contest. Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith were particularly ineffective, combining for zero hits in eight at-bats while striking out three times.
The Brewers' bullpen proved insurmountable, retiring all 15 batters they faced to close out the game. Smith also faced scrutiny for declining to challenge two missed strike calls by umpire Chris Segal against Brice Turang, who subsequently scored twice.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who started for the Dodgers, and manager Dave Roberts both addressed the missed opportunities following the defeat.
