Sergio Garcia Pushes For 2027 Ryder Cup Return As LIV Deal Ends

Sergio Garcia is actively seeking a spot on the European Ryder Cup squad for the 2027 tournament, aiming to compete or assist in a non-playing capacity at Adare Manor. The veteran golfer recently secured a legal release from his LIV Golf contract through a court petition to avoid potential future penalties, though he remains uncertain about the DP World Tour's stance on the league's upcoming iteration.

He has already discussed his availability with team captain Luke Donald. Meanwhile, fellow Spaniard Jon Rahm has opted out of the tour's relaunch, a move that leaves him with significant unpaid earnings from his original agreement.

Eugenio Chacarra, who previously departed the circuit, has since secured three victories on the DP World Tour and maintains that leaving the breakaway league was the correct professional choice.
