Senators Visit Devils Monday, Looking To Build On Fast Start

October 12, 2026

The Ottawa Senators aim to extend their momentum into their sixth game of the 2026-27 NHL season when they travel to face the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Monday evening. Ottawa has earned eight points from their first five matches despite key absences, including defensemen Jake Sanderson and William Eklund, who suffered lower-body and ankle injuries, respectively.

The Devils, meanwhile, bounced back from a two-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, fueled by three power-play goals, including a milestone 200th career tally by Nico Hischier. Ottawa’s resilience was on full display in their latest outing, a 3-2 shootout victory over Nashville, where Tim Stützle and Drake Batherson led the charge, while goaltender Linus Ullmark continued his dominant start with a league-leading .942 save percentage.

The Devils’ Jake Allen, meanwhile, made his 500th NHL appearance in Saturday’s win, stopping 20 of 21 shots faced. The game tips off at 7 p.m.

ET, though availability for some Ottawa fans remains a concern, as regional blackouts have plagued recent broadcasts on Sportsnet+ and TSN 5.
