Saracens sack player who sparked Stokes captaincy crisis after latest incident

Saracens have terminated the contract of Totoa Auvaa, a 21-year-old Samoan forward, following an internal investigation into an alcohol-related incident in St Albans. The move comes after Auvaa’s involvement in a high-profile night out with England cricket captain Ben Stokes and teammate Gus Atkinson last summer, which contributed to Stokes’ temporary removal as captain.

The club’s statement emphasized that Auvaa’s conduct did not meet the expected standards, marking the latest disciplinary action in a season already marked by off-field controversies.
