MotoGP will make its debut at a Formula 1 event this season, staging a promotional run during the U.S. Grand Prix at Austin.
The demonstration will feature three high-profile riders: Ducati’s 2027 MotoGP signee and World Superbike champion Niccolò Bùglia, along with KTM and Yamaha’s veteran test riders Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso, and Aprilia’s test rider Lorenzo Savadori. The event, scheduled for Saturday morning ahead of F1 practice, aims to capitalize on the series’ shared U.S.
fanbase, with Liberty Media—now the owner of both championships—prioritizing MotoGP’s growth in the region. The timing coincides with MotoGP’s Australian Grand Prix, preventing current riders from participating, but the choice of Austin aligns with its status as a proven circuit for both series and its potential to draw large crowds, including the expected 400,000-plus attendees for the F1 weekend.
The move underscores Liberty’s strategy to leverage F1’s expanded U.S. popularity to boost MotoGP’s visibility and ticket sales ahead of next year’s season.
