Russell wins despite late Verstappen challenge

George Russell secured victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after holding off a late charge from Max Verstappen. Russell initially dominated the early stages of the race while Verstappen fought his way up from eighth on the grid.

Two consecutive safety car interventions bunched the field together, creating a tense eleven-lap sprint to the finish where Russell ultimately triumphed by a narrow margin of under two seconds.
