Report: Jaylen Waddle aggravated previous chest injury, Week 8 status TBD

Denver leader Sean Payton took the blame for the play selection that led to Jaylen Waddle sustaining a chest issue. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the pass catcher exacerbated an existing chest problem during the sequence, leaving his participation for the upcoming matchup against Kansas City uncertain.

His availability for Sunday will hinge on how much he practices leading up to the fixture.

Waddle joined the franchise through a trade during the prior period of roster movement, though his output has fallen short of initial expectations for 2026. Aside from an eight-reception, 138-yard performance during a second-week victory against Jacksonville, he has failed to surpass 50 receiving yards in any subsequent outing.

Through seven appearances, his totals stand at 26 catches, 276 yards, and one trip to the end zone.
