Relief for O'Neill as Celtic beat Motherwell to go top

Celtic returned to the summit of the Scottish Premiership following a convincing away victory over Motherwell. Manager Martin O'Neill averted a fourth consecutive defeat after goals in either half from Camilo Duran and Benjamin Nygren secured all three points.

The visitors controlled the match entirely, though Motherwell goalkeeper Alex Paulsen kept the scoreline down by making a season-high twelve saves. The result lifts Celtic past Rangers into first place, while easing mounting pressure on their newly appointed coach.
