Real Sociedad ease Hearts out of Europa Cup

Heart of Midlothian has been eliminated from the Women's Europa Cup following a decisive four-goal defeat against Real Sociedad during their second qualifying round fixture. After a scoreless initial encounter in Edinburgh, the Scottish side struggled to generate offense in San Sebastian as the Spanish club dominated possession and converted four scoring opportunities.

Laura Camino opened the scoring with a header eighteen minutes into the match, followed shortly by a penalty converted by Paula Fernandez after a foul by Erin Rennie on Intza Egiguren. Ainoa Campo added a third before halftime off a pass from Cecilia Marcos.

Despite heavy rainfall limiting the attack after the restart, Ainhoa Marin secured the final tally in the seventy-sixth minute, rendering a fifty-fifth-minute free kick from Lauren Wade the visitors' only attempt on target.
