The Atlanta Braves have decided to tab left-hander Ray Kerr to take the mound for the second contest of their National League Division Series in Los Angeles, passing over Chris Sale for the assignment. Sale recently logged twenty-one pitches to secure the final four outs during Thursday's decisive wild-card game against Philadelphia on a single day of rest.
Instead, thirty-two-year-old Kerr will get the nod after tossing three and a third scoreless frames as an opener in that same matchup. Los Angeles plans to counter with left-hander Blake Snell as the home team looks to establish a two-game advantage before the series shifts locations.
