Afghanistan secured a 37-run victory over Zimbabwe in the first T20I of their series held on October 27, 2026. Despite an early collapse that left them at 31 for 3, the team reached 177 all out thanks to Ijaz Ahmadzai's 51 off 20 balls, a 46-run effort from Shahidullah Kamal, and a late 30-run burst from Rashid Khan.

In response, Zimbabwe struggled to maintain the required pace and were bowled out for 140 in 19.1 overs. Rashid Khan also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets to help finalize the win and give his side a 1-0 series lead.
