WNBA history is marked by several lopsided trades that significantly altered franchise trajectories. One notable example occurred in 2010 when the Chicago Sky traded Kristi Toliver to the Los Angeles Sparks for the rights to Angie Bjorklund.
While Bjorklund appeared in only seven league games, Toliver went on to secure two championships, three All-Star selections, and the 2012 Most Improved Player award. Another significant move involved the Chicago Sky acquiring Ariel Atkins from the Washington Mystics in exchange for draft assets, including the third overall pick in the 2025 draft.
Washington utilized that selection to draft Sonia Citron, who has since earned two All-Star appearances, while Atkins was later traded to the Sparks in 2026.
