Mumbai compiled a first-innings total of 396 runs on the second day of the match, driven by solid half-centuries from Shams Mulani and Akash Anand. Mulani contributed 71 runs while Anand added 52, supported by useful lower-order contributions as Railways bowlers Himanshu Sangwan and Raj Choudhury picked up four and three wickets respectively.
In response, Railways reached 116 for two by stumps. Openers Sahab Yuvraj Singh and Vivek Singh provided a brisk start before Vivek retired hurt on 38, and although Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani struck for Mumbai, captain Bhargav Merai and Mohammad Saif safely navigated the remaining overs to finish the day.
