Dhruv Shorey anchored Vidarbha's batting effort with a patient innings of 168 runs from 291 balls, featuring 13 boundaries and a six, during their Ranji Trophy Elite Group A fixture. His century helped the host side erase their first-innings deficit almost immediately on the third morning and build a 222-run advantage over Goa before applying pressure with the ball in the final session.
Danish Malewar contributed 56 runs to the total before falling to Ruthvik Naik, who finished with five wickets for 70 runs.
Following Malewar's dismissal, Shorey combined with captain Akshay Wadkar to add 101 runs through the opening session. Wadkar reached his half-century from 115 balls before retiring hurt on 53, after which brief contributions from Harsh Dubey and lower-order batters pushed the innings further despite a brief weather threat and a flurry of subsequent wickets.
Goa now trails by 181 runs with nine wickets remaining in their second innings.
