The Philadelphia 76ers dominated the NBA general managers' offseason survey, with 73% of respondents naming them as the team with the best moves after landing Jaylen Brown and signing LeBron James. Yet that same survey highlighted the Sixers as the most unpredictable team for the 2026-27 season, with 27% of GMs struggling to project their success amid a full roster overhaul.
The uncertainty stems from integrating two new stars into an entirely revamped starting five, as seen in their chaotic preseason debut—14 first-half turnovers against the Nets on October 8 underscored the challenges ahead.
Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs dominated other categories, with half of GMs picking them to win the Finals and 87% praising their young core. Victor Wembanyama led the survey in eight questions, including MVP (77% support) and best defensive player (97%), while second-year guard Dylan Harper was seen as the most likely breakout star (27%).
The 2026 draft class also drew attention, with Cameron Boozer named projected Rookie of the Year (50%), though top picks AJ Dybantsa and Caleb Wilson tied for best long-term potential in five years (33% each).
