Paula Blasi has officially joined Movistar for a three-year deal starting in 2027. The 23-year-old Spanish rider, who won the Vuelta Femenina and Amstel Gold Race in her first full professional season, also placed fifth in her Tour de France Femmes debut and earned top-five finishes at La Flèche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and the Tour Down Under.
To secure her transfer, Movistar paid an 85,000 euro buyout fee to UAE Team L'IMAD, allowing her to exit her contract a year early.
Blasi will earn approximately 600,000 euros annually, though she admitted to rejecting a more lucrative offer from UAE to prioritize her mental well-being and sporting growth. The move was delayed until UCI approval was granted, following discussions with her agent Alex Carera and team boss Unzué.
Blasi expressed excitement about sharing leadership with Marlen Reusser and returning to her home team.
