Patriots teammates react to ‘heartbreaking’ Mike Onwenu injury

Following their matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the New England Patriots are facing a difficult situation regarding offensive lineman Mike Onwenu. The veteran blocker had to exit the contest on a medical cart after suffering an apparent ankle problem during the opening quarter.

Teammates have expressed deep disappointment over the setback, which stems from a play involving defender T.J. Watt.

While the club secured a victory on Sunday afternoon, they now anticipate playing without one of quarterback Drake Maye's primary protectors for the remainder of the 2026 campaign.
