The Green Bay Packers held a workout session on Tuesday, inviting four players to evaluate their skills, though no signings have been confirmed at this stage. Among the participants was Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones, a 31-year-old veteran with a history of high-level play, including a standout second season with the Atlanta Falcons where he earned his Pro Bowl nod.
Jones, a former second-round pick, has spent the last five years bouncing between teams like the Browns, Panthers, Bills, Buccaneers, and 49ers, making just eight starts since 2021. His connection to Packers head coach Matt LaFleur—who was the Falcons’ quarterbacks coach during Jones’ tenure—adds an intriguing layer to his potential fit in Green Bay, where he could step into a role similar to Edgerrin Cooper’s, now sidelined for the year with an Achilles injury.
The Packers also worked out two younger linebackers, Chris Paul Jr., a 23-year-old undrafted free agent with NFL experience but no snaps played, and cornerbacks Cobee Bryant and Dwight McGlothern, both from the 2025 draft class. Bryant, a standout undrafted free agent, logged seven games as a rookie with the Falcons before being waived, while Paul was recently waived by the Seahawks after being claimed off waivers last year.
