Preview: Chicago Blackhawks vs St. Louis Blues — Oct 7

The NHL season’s early grind continued Wednesday as the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues clashed in a midweek showdown, with the puck dropping at 12:00 AM UTC.

Both teams arrived with modest records—Chicago’s 29-39-14 standing a touch behind the Blues’ 37-33-12—but the contest served as a reminder of how quickly the standings can shift in a league where consistency remains elusive. The Blackhawks, still searching for rhythm after a slow start, faced a Blues squad that had shown flashes of resilience despite a slightly better win-loss ratio.

With no clear favorite entering the game, the focus remained on which team could seize control in a matchup that carried weight for both squads’ playoff aspirations.
