Which Cincinnati Division I golfers qualified for OHSAA tournament?

October 6, 2026

The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division I golf district championships have wrapped up, and Greater Cincinnati’s top golfers have secured their spots at the state tournament set for October 12–13 at NCR Country Club. On the boys’ side, Lakota East, Moeller, and St.

Xavier emerged as the qualifying teams, with the Thunderhawks edging out Elder by a single stroke to claim third place. Brody Hayes led Lakota East with a 71, while Jack Hoover and Ethan Keller also contributed strong rounds to clinch the team’s first state appearance since 2023.

Individually, Loveland’s Casey Kopecky and Bellbrook’s Brody Seitz punched their tickets with standout performances, shooting 69s and 71s, respectively, while Milford’s Brock Shuluga secured the final individual spot after a playoff victory over Beavercreek’s Jack Faulkner. St.

Xavier’s Jax Denton also earned individual recognition with a 69, rounding out the field of qualifiers from the region’s top programs.

The girls’ division saw a fresh face lead the charge, as Sycamore’s Savanna Blackmore claimed both the individual medalist title and the team championship for the Aviators with a 71. Lakota East and Anderson rounded out the top three teams, with Jenna Schmidt and Rachel Lunn delivering strong performances to secure their spots.

The results mark a new era for Sycamore, following last year’s graduation of state champion Eva Becerril, as Blackmore steps into the spotlight with immediate success.
