During a lopsided contest against Oregon State, Colorado State underwent a dramatic coaching shakeup when defensive play-caller Tyson Summers abandoned the sideline at halftime. Head coach Jim Mora had stripped Summers of his play-calling responsibilities during the game, handing those duties to associate head coach Kenny McClendon after the Rams fell behind early.
Oregon State ultimately cruised to a 56-26 victory before an audience of 41,000. Mora later clarified that while he merely intended to change play-callers, Summers independently chose to walk away from the squad and is no longer part of the program.
