Official WNBA report contradicts Breanna Stewart’s claims over Liberty timeout

Following a narrow one-hundred-one to ninety-eight overtime playoff defeat to the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart claimed an official told her the team had no remaining reset timeouts on their final possession. Angel Reese led Atlanta with twenty-three points, while Stewart topped all scorers with thirty-five.

However, a postgame officiating pool report led by Crew Chief Fatou Cissoko-Stephens disputed those assertions. Cissoko-Stephens stated that referees verified the team indeed possessed a reset timeout and never communicated otherwise to the players or staff.
