The New York Giants have added offensive guard Josh Gesky to their practice squad, according to multiple reports. Gesky, a 23-year-old former Illinois standout, brings experience from 48 collegiate games, including 34 starts—32 of them at left guard—where he showcased solid pass-protection skills and adequate size for the position at 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds.
His collegiate tenure included a reunion with former teammate JC Davis, now a Giant, after both played together at Illinois. Gesky’s professional journey began with the Green Bay Packers, who signed him as an undrafted rookie and later guaranteed $200,000 of his rookie salary to secure his services.
Though he was waived during the Packers’ final roster cuts and spent time on their practice squad, he was released earlier this week as part of a roster reshuffle.
