Notre Dame to play at Virginia in 2027

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have finalized their 2027 football schedule by adding a road matchup against the Virginia Cavaliers at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. This fixture fills the remaining opening on both slates following the cancellation of a previously planned contest between the Fighting Irish and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Specific scheduling details such as the exact date, kickoff time, and television broadcast network remain to be determined and will be announced at a future date.

Historically, the head-to-head series heavily favors Notre Dame, which holds an undefeated five-to-zero record against Virginia while outscoring the Cavaliers by a cumulative margin of one hundred sixty-eight to seventy-seven. Their most recent meeting occurred during the two thousand twenty-four campaign, resulting in a thirty-five to fourteen victory for the Fighting Irish on their home turf.

The two programs first met back in nineteen eighty-nine, with Notre Dame claiming two prior victories in Charlottesville.
