Formula 1 driver Lando Norris reached out to rival Franco Colapinto via social media to express regret over sharp remarks made immediately following a multi-car collision in Baku. During a radio interview on Saturday, Norris had suggested a racing ban was warranted after Colapinto locked his tires on a restart and careened into Pierre Gasly, which subsequently triggered a chain reaction ending both of their races alongside Norris himself.
Admitting that high tensions clouded his judgment, Norris acknowledged that missteps naturally occur when competitors drive right on the edge. The pair have since resolved the issue amicably.
Meanwhile, the resulting penalty from the incident means Colapinto faces a five-position grid drop at the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.
