Nittany Lions Unsurprisingly Drop Out of the AP Poll

Following a poor performance against Wisconsin at Beaver Stadium on September 26, 2026, the Penn State Nittany Lions dropped entirely out of the latest Associated Press rankings while sliding down to twenty-second place in the Coaches Poll. Several other Big Ten programs also appear in the Coaches rankings, including Indiana, Ohio State, Iowa, Oregon, USC, and Michigan.

Trying to bounce back from their initial defeat, the squad is preparing to travel outside Pennsylvania for the first time this season to face the Wildcats under the lights on Saturday in their newly built stadium, with the matchup broadcast on FOX.
