NFL says Maracanã Stadium field passed required tests before Cowboys-Ravens kickoff

Ahead of the upcoming weekend matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys, league officials confirmed that the turf at the venue successfully cleared all necessary inspections on Friday. Nick Pappas addressed journalists on Saturday following collaborative evaluations alongside independent specialists and representatives from the players union.

Despite recent heavy precipitation and heavy use by local soccer squads, the playing surface was reinforced and deemed ready for action. Players from Dallas visited the grounds on Saturday to test the footing themselves, with some wearing cleats while others walked across the turf barefoot prior to Sunday afternoon kickoff.
