New Patriots DT DaQuan Jones ‘still has some good snaps ahead of him’

Following a 13-10 defeat against the Seattle Seahawks to start the season, the New England Patriots fortified their defensive front by signing veteran tackle DaQuan Jones to a $6 million agreement. Jones, who turned down multiple offers during the offseason, chose to join New England ahead of their upcoming matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers after receiving a call from head coach Mike Vrabel.

Jones had previously visited the franchise alongside linebacker Shaq Thompson on August 18, prompting speculation that the team could also pursue Thompson to add further experience to the defense.

Brown was placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury sustained on a Wednesday and is projected to miss between four and six weeks. Elsewhere on the roster, Vrabel highlighted the contributions of first-year players Eli Raridon and Gabe Jacas, who both logged their initial professional snaps during the Week 1 opener.
