MotoGP responds to Yamaha’s Qatar GP boycott, warns of “implications”

MotoGP officials have expressed disappointment regarding Yamaha's decision to skip the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix due to corporate travel restrictions. While the rest of the grid has committed to the event, the championship organizers warned that the manufacturer faces potential sporting penalties to be determined by the FIM.

Nineteen riders had previously signed a letter expressing reservations about competing in the region amid ongoing security concerns. Despite these objections, organizers maintain that their safety assessments and consultations with local authorities support proceeding as scheduled.
