Fourteen years of frustration. One decisive moment. Arsenal have finally conquered Anfield!
Mikel Arteta's side secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday, November 1, ending their long wait for a Premier League away win at the iconic stadium.
The hero of the night was Kai Havertz, whose 16th-minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides.
For Arsenal, this was more than three points. It was the end of a record that had haunted the club for over a decade.
Arsenal's previous Premier League victory at Anfield came in September 2012.
Since then, the Emirates-based side had struggled to secure three points at Liverpool's home ground.
This victory finally ended that unwanted run and delivered a significant psychological boost for Arteta's team.
Interestingly, Arteta was an Arsenal midfielder the last time the club won a league match at Anfield.
