The International Padel Federation (FIP) has formally set its sights on securing a place at the 2032 Brisbane Olympics, marking a bold step forward for the rapidly growing sport. With over 40 million players across 191 countries and five continents, padel boasts a global reach and balanced gender participation—53% male and 47% female—that aligns with the Olympic movement’s values.
The federation highlighted its competitive infrastructure, including Premier Padel broadcasts in 244 nations and professional tours like the Cupra FIP Tour and FIP Promises, as key strengths in its push for inclusion. Celebrating World Padel Day with a video campaign under the theme *‘Padel is ready for Brisbane 2032,’* the FIP emphasized its adaptability, worldwide presence, and commitment to nurturing future talent for Olympic representation.
Luigi Carraro, president of the FIP, underscored the federation’s ambition to give athletes worldwide the opportunity to compete on the Olympic stage. The announcement follows years of behind-the-scenes advocacy, with the FIP now publicly reinforcing padel’s compliance with Olympic Charter requirements.
As the sport continues expanding, its Olympic bid gains momentum ahead of the 2032 Games in Australia.
