Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi will likely not secure an extension beyond April 2, 2027, as head of the Asian Cricket Council due to anticipated opposition from at least three Full Members. Under the organization's rotational policy, leadership duties are scheduled to pass to Bangladesh Cricket Board leader Tamim Iqbal, who has already expressed his readiness to assume the role.
While previous leadership terms have occasionally been prolonged through unanimous board consent, current dynamics indicate no such agreement exists for Naqvi. Tamim recently began a four-year tenure leading Bangladesh cricket following an uncontested election victory.
