New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has been cleared to play in the second T20I against India following a neck injury sustained during the series opener. The all-rounder experienced a fall while attempting a catch off a delivery from Lockie Ferguson, forcing him to briefly exit the field.
Despite the scare, medical evaluations confirmed he is not suffering from a concussion, and he is expected to be fit for the upcoming match. Daryl Mitchell stepped in as captain during the brief period Santner was off the pitch.
India currently leads the five-match series 1-0 after successfully chasing down New Zealand's total of 225/4 to win by four wickets.
