Mike Baird steps down as Cricket Australia chair, David Boon to step in as interim replacement

Mike Baird has stepped down from his position as the leader of Cricket Australia, with David Boon stepping in temporarily. Prior to this departure, Baird and Chief Executive Officer Todd Greenberg led an initiative to bring private investment into the Big Bash League, a strategy prompted by an evaluation conducted by the Boston Consulting Group.

This proposed shift toward private ownership was set to kick off by offering the Melbourne Renegades franchise for sale.
