The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed its six-member commentary panel for the upcoming ODI tri-series, excluding two prominent former England cricketers amid ongoing controversy. Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain, both well-known for their broadcasting work, are notably absent from the team, which includes Waqar Younis, Aamir Sohail, Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz, Roshan Abeysinghe, and Mark Butcher.
The omission follows Atherton’s recent interview with Kasim and Sulaiman Khan, sons of jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, which drew strong objections from the PCB over its perceived political content. The tri-series, featuring Pakistan, England, and Sri Lanka, begins on October 18 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with England facing Pakistan on October 20.
Waqar Younis will miss the opening match but join the commentary team for the second fixture. The PCB has not provided an explanation for the exclusions, leaving questions about the decision unanswered.
