The AP Top 25 college football rankings are set for a dramatic reshuffle after a weekend of upsets and surprises. The top three teams—Georgia, Notre Dame, and Indiana—all suffered losses, joining Alabama, Texas, and Mississippi State in dropping out of the rankings.
Georgia, previously ranked No. 1, fell to Auburn in a narrow 27–24 defeat, while Notre Dame lost to BYU 28–24, and Indiana was upset by Ohio State 19–15.
Even Missouri (No. 13), Mississippi State (No.
16), and Oklahoma State (No. 18) saw their seasons disrupted by defeats, creating a cascade of movement in the poll.
The biggest beneficiaries appear to be Miami, BYU, and UCLA, who are poised to climb after strong performances, while Texas, Mississippi State, and Alabama face the steepest declines following their losses. With so many powerhouse programs stumbling, the next few weeks could redefine the national title race entirely.
