Dave Portnoy reveals his new AP Top-10 after crazy college football’s Week 7

October 18, 2026

College football’s Week 7 delivered a historic wave of upsets that reshaped the national championship picture, with top-ranked programs falling to underdogs in dramatic fashion. BYU stunned No.

2 Notre Dame in a 28–24 thriller, ending a 19-year losing streak to the Fighting Irish, while No. 1 Georgia suffered its first loss of the season with a 27–24 defeat at Auburn.

Alabama (No. 6) and Texas also dropped unexpected games, with the Volunteers beating the Crimson Tide 26–10 and Florida upsetting the Longhorns 27–24 on their home field.

Ohio State, meanwhile, edged Indiana (No. 5) 19–15, further scrambling the playoff picture.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy reacted to the chaos by unveiling his revised AP Top 10, featuring BYU, UCLA, Texas Tech, Miami, Utah, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Georgia—highlighting the Big 12’s potential playoff presence. The weekend’s results underscored that no team is invincible, with first-place votes in the upcoming AP Poll now split among Miami, Ohio State, and BYU.
