Martin Necas has 2 goals to lead the short-handed Avs past the Stars, 3-2

Martin Necas scored twice to guide the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars in a physical contest. Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 24 shots to secure the victory for a team playing without defenseman Cale Makar, who missed the game as his wife went into labor.

The result improves Colorado's record to 3-2, while Dallas sits at 2-2-1 in the Central Division standings. This matchup marked the first game of a back-to-back home-and-home series between the divisional rivals.
