Liverpool interested in two defenders as Virgil van Dijk uncertainty continues

The Merseyside club is currently mapping out long-term defensive reinforcements as doubts persist regarding the future of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez. Recruitment staff are keeping close tabs on Nico Schlotterbeck and Murillo, though officials have yet to put forward any formal bids and are instead relying purely on scouting and performance tracking.

Schlotterbeck is tied to Borussia Dortmund until 2031 and carries a release clause of fifty to sixty million euros starting in the summer of 2027, alongside a valuation exceeding seventy million euros outside of that window. Meanwhile, Murillo remains under contract with Nottingham Forest until 2030, with his current club strictly unwilling to authorize a mid-season departure in January.
