Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter confirmed on Friday that quarterback Lamar Jackson will not play against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday due to an ankle injury sustained last week. Backup quarterback Tyler Huntley is set to start in his place, while edge rusher Trey Hendrickson will also sit out with a finger injury.
Minter expressed strong confidence in Huntley's ability to perform well and noted that the entire team is eager for him to seize the opportunity. The coach indicated that both players feel optimistic about their recovery prospects after the upcoming week.
Jackson's return timeline remains uncertain, with Minter stating that the decision will be made in the player's best interest, though he acknowledged Jackson is working hard to return. Through three games in the 2026 season, Jackson has completed 70.8% of his passes for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception, leading the league in yards per attempt at 10.1 and yards per completion at 14.2.
Hendrickson has contributed one sack and three quarterback hits in his first three appearances this year.
