Kirk Ferentz jokes Iowa won’t make ESPN’s CFP rankings because it plays on Fox

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz expressed skepticism regarding the upcoming College Football Playoff rankings reveal, sarcastically questioning the process during his weekly media session. He suggested that ESPN prioritizes coverage of properties it holds broadcast rights for, noting a perceived lack of attention toward the World Series, which aired on Fox.

Ferentz jokingly speculated that because Iowa games are broadcast on Fox, the Hawkeyes might be overlooked by the committee. He emphasized that his primary focus remains on preparing for the upcoming game against Northwestern rather than the rankings.
