Former UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev will compete in a submission-only grappling bout against veteran Jorge Masvidal at the ALF League’s debut event on December 4 in Dubai. The match marks Chimaev’s sixth non-MMA appearance since losing his UFC title to Sean Strickland in May, following four prior grappling victories over former UFC champions Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley, as well as Gilbert Burns and Dillon Danis.
Chimaev is also set to face Colby Covington in a main-event grappling match on November 14. Masvidal, meanwhile, has remained active outside the octagon, most recently losing a boxing decision to Nate Diaz in July 2024, while continuing to tease a potential return to MMA competition.
