Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. left Sunday’s 23–23 loss to the Baltimore Ravens with a rib injury suffered late in the fourth quarter during a two-minute drill.
Stefanski noted Penix was unable to regain comfort after the hit and exited the game, later returning briefly for an incomplete pass before being replaced by Tua Tagovailoa. The Falcons’ starter completed 19 of 32 passes for 240 yards and a touchdown before the turnover in overtime sealed the defeat.
Coach Kevin Stefanski praised Penix’s effort against Baltimore’s aggressive defense but acknowledged room for improvement. The Falcons will next face the Chicago Bears at home in Week 6, with Penix’s status pending further imaging results in the coming days.
