The Arizona Cardinals made a significant move off the field during their loss to the Detroit Lions, trading wide receiver Marv Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans.
Harrison, the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had struggled to maintain a consistent role in Arizona’s receiving corps, particularly after rookie Reggie Virgil and Kendrick Bourne emerged as key contributors. The trade, finalized after Sunday’s game, sent Harrison to Houston, where he reunites with his former college quarterback, C.J.
Stroud. In return, the Cardinals secured second- and sixth-round draft picks, while Houston acquired Harrison and an additional sixth-round selection.
Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed the decision was made in the team’s best interest, though he declined to elaborate further on the reasoning behind the move. Harrison’s production this season has been limited, with just 13 targets and five receptions in four games, raising questions about his fit in Arizona’s system under LaFleur.
