Kentucky slapped with hefty fine after upset of LSU, disrespecting Lane Kiffin

Kentucky pulled off back‑to‑back 35‑34 overtime victories, first beating South Carolina and then top‑10 LSU, snapping a 5‑7 season from a year earlier and earning a No. 15 spot in the AP Top 25.

The Wildcats’ win over LSU featured a game‑winning run by transfer quarterback Kenny Minchey and key defensive plays, with coach Will Stein praising his players’ effort despite injuries.

After the upset, Kentucky fans stormed the field and made obscene gestures toward LSU head coach Lane Kiffin, prompting the SEC to levy a $500,000 fine on the university for the conduct. The incident occurred at Kroger Field in Lexington.
