Will UCLA football make the CFP before the USC Trojans?

UCLA football has vaulted into College Football Playoff contention with a commanding 17-15 upset victory over No. 13 Oregon in Eugene, marking the Bruins’ first win since 2017.

Head coach Bob Chesney’s turnaround of the program has accelerated dramatically, with UCLA now ranked No. 12 in the US LBM Coaches Poll after a dominant performance against a top-tier opponent.

The win not only silenced doubters but also positioned the Bruins as serious contenders for a Big Ten title, with an easier stretch of games ahead that could solidify their playoff hopes before rival USC Trojans catch up. Chesney’s leadership has been the driving force, earning praise for his ability to elevate the team’s confidence and performance on the field, while also sparking discussions about a potential contract extension to retain his services.
