During recent professional basketball promotional events, former college players with ties to Kentucky found themselves caught up in playful college rivalry banter by their new teams. Tyler Herro refused to repeat a slogan for his former school's rival when prompted by the Milwaukee Bucks, while teammate Nate Ament readily spoke a phrase supporting the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, rookie Otega Oweh addressed whether he would choose sides or wear a dual-themed jersey when his former collegiate programs face each other.
