Josh Allen fittingly scores the first touchdown in Bills' brand-new Highmark Stadium

1 billion Highmark Stadium by reaching the end zone on the Bills' very first possession against the Detroit Lions. Entering the Thursday night regular-season venue debut following an opening-week victory over the Houston Texans, Buffalo welcomed fans with pregame fireworks and performances of both the American and Canadian national anthems.

The contest followed preparations that included completely resodding the playing surface after early wear emerged during two preseason games and three practice sessions. Prior to kickoff, Allen had noted that the fresh feel of the venue had begun to fade after those initial workouts, but the quarterback capitalized immediately once regular-season action got underway on the fresh grass.
