Jorge Martin has withdrawn from the Malaysian Grand Prix after determining that his physical condition made the safety risks of competing outweigh his current performance level. The Aprilia rider struggled during Saturday's final practice session and opted to prioritize recovery ahead of the upcoming Qatar round.
Martin anticipates that title rival Marc Marquez will secure a maximum 37-point haul at Sepang, which would extend the championship lead to 47 points. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi remains in contention to challenge his teammate for the second spot in the standings, trailing by 40 points with four races left on the calendar.
